Implementation of NEP 2020 at Wilson College

National Education Policy 2020 is being implemented in Wilson College since the academic year 2023-24. Under NEP 2020, every student is required to acquire 20 - 22 credits per semester. In Semesters 1 and 2, Wilson College students acquire 22 credits (20 mandatory + 2 optional CC credits).

  • DSC (Discipline Specific Core) – Major & Minor subjects
  • SEC / VSC - Skill Enhancement & Vocational Skill Courses
  • VEC - Value Education Course (Environmental Studies | Understanding India | Digital Technologies)
  • OE/GE - Open Elective / Generic Elective (compulsory cross-faculty course)
  • IKS - Indian Knowledge System (mandatory in Semester 2)
  • AEC - Ability Enhancement Course (English + one Modern Indian Language)
  • CC / CEP / FP / OJT / RP - Co-curricular, Community Engagement, Field Project, On-Job-Training, Research Project

Major Subject: The subject in which the student will earn the Bachelor's degree.
Minor Subject: Continues only till Semester 4.
