B.Sc. (IT) is a three-year degree course which was introduced in Wilson College during the academic year 2007-2008 to celebrate the 175th year of Wilson College.
The objective of this course is to prepare IT professionals in the use of modern technology for the benefit of humanity. In addition to lectures, tutorials and practicals, students have to regularly submit assignments, case studies, or minor projects. Presentations and Seminars form an integral part of the course which help instill confidence and public speaking skills in students. There are up-to-date computer labs with necessary software and hardware. The department has an impressive record of campus placements in reputed companies.
ACTIVITIES
This is a 3 years and 2 years full time undergraduate and post graduate program respectively. The IT department at Wilson College aims to create sharp and analytical minds essential for the dynamic and ever-changing field of technology. The curriculum covers a wide range of subjects from operating systems, web development, programming languages to data structures, computer networks along with value-added certifications including the SAP training and Global certification. The IT Department bagged good results during the academic year 2022-2023. The IT department has well-organized lectures with active participation of students. The department indulges in organizing Science Day program for students to guide them in their area of interest pertaining to training in different software, hardware, internships and projects. Every year the Department had a series of events, offline lectures with good attendance, organizing and managing the co-curricular activities and extra-curricular activities. The focus of such events was on the ultimate development for students. The Department also organizes industrial visit to various company. The IT Department is awarded under DBT Star Scheme Grant in the year 2022-23.

Software development (OOPS with C++, Python, etc) and Artificial Intelligence.
Short Biography:
Mrs. Srilatha Ratnam has a teaching experience of 6+ years and teaches subjects in Information technology. She is examination convener for unaided courses. She has written Research paper on Block Chain Technology. Mrs. Srilatha Ratnam is the Paper setter for B.Sc. (Information Technology) Semester II Python Programming at HSNC University, Mumbai 2023. She is appointed as external examiner for M.Sc.IT – Part-II Semester III regular practical examination on 17th December 2022 by HSNC University and has conducted and evaluated practical examination for Programming computer vision. She also participates various Seminar, FDP, Conferences, etc.
Mrs. Simran Puri

Short Biography:
Mrs. Simran Puri has 7+ years of experience in teaching & 1 year experience in international company as technical executive. She guided her students on different level of projects. She mentors students for career guidance. She has been invited as external examiner in various colleges of Mumbai. She regularly participates in various National & International seminars.
