Every Journey invariably starts with a single step so “TAKE PRIDE IN HOW FAR YOU HAVE COME, HAVE FAITH IN HOW FAR YOU CAN GOâ€. With the same determination we had embarked on a Journey in 2020 by introducing the Couse of Bachelor of Commerce under Commerce department at Wilson College.
Bachelor of Commerce is a 3 years full time undergraduate course. This course aims towards making the students well prepared to sustain as a corporate employee or to develop entrepreneurship skills. The Bachelor of Commerce course is designed in such a way to provide competencies in basic commerce discipline as it also imparts skills in problem solving, leadership, communications, decision making in organizations with appropriate subjects covering areas of Accountancy, Communications, Business Economics, Human Resource, Taxation, Marketing Management and Information Technology.
ACTIVITIES
"RESEARCH PE CHARCHA" - HOW TO WRITE A RESEARCH PAPER: Department of Commerce in Collaboration with IQAC and R&D Cell invited resource Person- Mr. Atul Sathe for an Informative session. Approx. 60+ students participated in the “Charcha†and gained the knowledge on how to go ahead with a Research Paper writing.
Blood Donation Drive: The Commerce Department of Wilson College under the aegis of IQAC, and medical aid, in collaboration with Fortis hospital (Mulund) and Red Swastik Society and Diabetic Health Care conducted Blood Donation Camp and Health Care Check up on Wednesday, 14th of September, 2022. As a part of this drive, a poster making competition was held, where students of different streams participated to create awareness on Blood Donation. Students were awarded cerificates for blood donation as well as results of poster making was also declared.
FRESHER’S HIRING SECRET: An informative session was conducted by Commerce Department of Wilson College on 29th September 2022. The guest speaker for the session was an American speaker, Mr. Elliot Rosenberg, CEO of Bossji - a consulting services firm.
Bombay Stock Exchange Visit: A study visit to the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) was organized by the Commerce Department of the Wilson College on 15th September, 2022. The students and faculties from different departments were invited for the same. The departments that participated for the same were BCOM, BAF, BAMMC, BMS, BSCIT. Around 400+ students have participated in the study visit.
SESSION ON “CAREER OPPORTUNITIES FOR STUDENTS IN INDIAN ARMED FORCESâ€: An informative session was conducted by Commerce Department of Wilson College in collabroration with INDIAN NAVY.
INDUSTRIAL VIST TO CHANDIGHAR-KULLU MANALI: Commerce department organized industrial visit for First, Second and third year students to Steel Bird Helmet factory, Chandigarh, India. The tour was of 7 days to Chandighar-Kullu-Manali.
SESSION ON “TIPS AND TRICK FOR VIRTUAL AND PHYSICAL INTERVIEWâ€: The commerce department in collaboration with ITM Business School organized session for tips and tricks for virtual and physical interview.
WILSON PREMIER LEAGUE(WPL): Commerce department organized a cricket tournament for Wilson college students at Oval Maidan, Churchgate on 14th November 2022. The BCom Department won the trophy.

Ms. Joffi Jose is an Assistant Professor in Department of Commerce. She is UGC-NET qualified. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Commerce (Accountancy and Finance). She has Master's in Advanced Accountancy. She holds an experience in teaching for 1.5 years.
