We like showing off...for a cause!
The BMS students of Wilson College smoothen way to grab people’s attention & promote its annual social drive “HOPE”
Having grabbed people’s attention in the past through its annual BMS fest ‘ADOREA’, BMS students of Wilson College continue to do the same even this time around by taking matters out on the asphalt. They will organize "YOUTH FOR INDIA’, a performance-bike rally on Sunday, 21st of August 2011, the line up time being 11.30am.
The performance bike rally is part of HOPE, which stands for “Help Our People Elevate”. It is a social drive undertaken by the BMS students of Wilson College each year. With a hope to forge to an affiliation between awareness to social problems and the high spirits of the youth, Wilson College has created a medium for the youth to enthusiastically participate in the upbringing of society, with the proceeds of this bike rally going to charity.
“With each bike that becomes a part of the rally, an amount would be donated to an old-age home”, says Umar Pathan, a student organizer.
“We have a large number of high-performance motor bikes participating in the rally which are sure to attract people’s attention. I think every individual owes to this cause.” says Alex Borges, CP of Adorea. Colleges participating for Adorea have been invited to be a part of the rally too and would be given contingent points for every joining participant. “Even regular motor-bikes are allowed to join in” says Borges.
The rally will be flagged off from Wilson College and will circle via prominent locations across South Mumbai. The reporting time is 11.30am on 21st August. It would not only give way to HOPE, but will also kick off one of the most awaited and by far the biggest festival in Wilson College – “Adorea 2011” (victory re-defined) which starts from the 24th of this month and houses the revolutionary theme ‘Las Vegas’.
“Just when you thought they had hit their peak, Adorea has surprised us again. I am a huge bike fanatic but if I see a rally of sports bikes on Marine drive I will surely be pinching myself. Really looking forward to it and to the festival itself,” says Asim Cutterwala from Hinduja College.
“When was the last time you did anything that mattered? Well now you have the chance to come, witness, and be a part of an incredible performance-bike rally which would make you think twice before you could inadvertently care less for the aged,” says Anees Patel, a second year BMS student of Wilson College. “Being a part of it- is the right thing to do, its cool, and its free of charge! Be there!” says Patel.
