In June 1999, the University of Mumbai introduced the Bachelor of Management Studies (BMS) Course, a three – year integrated degree program. The course is composed of six semesters, with each semester of approximately five months duration.
Industrial visits, corporate guest lectures and industry-based projects form an imperative part of the curriculum. This corporate exposure enables the students to make a connect between theories learnt during classroom sessions and its application in real-life situations in organizations. Through classroom presentations and various co-curricular activities, students are encouraged to develop the essential skills of effective communication and build up high morale.
A candidate for being eligible for admission to the BMS course should have passed the HSc or its equivalent and secured not less than 50% marks in aggregate at the first attempt.
The evaluation of the performance of the students is based on internal assessment (40%) and semester-end examination (60%).
In order to pass, a minimum of aggregate 40% marks are required in every paper and not more than two A.T.K.Ts are allowed at the end of the academic year.
Kindly check the prospectus of the BMS department for further details.
The BMS Curriculum equip students with tools and techniques to develop into effective and efficient leaders and managers. The course also grooms students to pursue higher and specialized management programs.
