B.Sc in Information Technology

Students seeking admission for B.Sc in Information Technology must:

        1) Fill the admission form completely. Incomplete form or form without phone no. address etc. will not be accepted.

        2) Affix one passport size photograph (photo taken on or after 1st April 2011), with name and date of photograph printed on it as             shown below) and attach two same  passport size photograph to the admission form.


                                                                                        

        3)   Attach the certificates as mentioned below -
               a)  Original Certificate:         i) XII Marksheet,
                                                               ii) Leaving Certificate

              b)   Xerox copies:                   i) X Mark sheet
                                                               ii) X Passing Certificate
                                                              iii) School Leaving Certificate

        Along with the above certificates
             I) Students other than Maharashtra Board (i.e. ICSE / ISC / CBSE students) to attach –        
                    i) Original migration certificate
                   ii) Transfer Certificate

           II) Reserve Category Students to attach Xerox copy of caste certificate.

          III) Christian Minority Student to attach Xerox copy of Baptism Certificate.

         Enrollment & Eligibility

         A) Students who passed XII from Maharashtra Board will have to fill up enrollment form in the month of August.

         B) Students who passed XII from other than Maharashtra Board (i.e. ICSE / ISC / CBSE, other State Boards etc) will have to fill in               provisional eligibility form in the office before payment of fees. 

B.Sc (IT) a Three year degree course was introduced in Wilson College during the academic year 2007-2008 to celebrate the 175th year of Wilson College.

The objective of this course is to provide adequate basic understanding about IT among the students and to inculcate training in the use of modern technology for the benefit of humanity.

Eligibility:
10+2 Candidates with minimum 50% marks & with Mathematics at 12th level at first attempt.

Admission Criteria:
Mathematics marks at HSc plus HSc aggregate Marks.

Nature of Course:
The course is designed to be industry oriented. It is expected that graduates will work both, within the IT industry as a developer / manager and also in a wide range of industries in a supporting role. Besides technical aspects, the course-ware includes soft-skills training and awareness of industry-specific processes. Each semester students have to study 5 papers with practicals/tutorials and term work consisting of assignments, case studies and projects. Presentations are an integral part of the course. Exams are held at the end of each semester.

Graduates in Information Technology could expected to have the following generic job titles.

Duration:
The duration of the course is Six Semesters spread over three years with the Sixth Semester devoted to a project work.
