B.Sc in Computer Science


 

Students seeking admission for B.Sc in Computer Science must:

        

        1) Fill the admission form completely. Incomplete form or form without phone no. address etc. will not be accepted.

        2) Affix one passport size photograph (photo taken on or after 1st April 2011), with name and date of photograph printed on it as             shown below) and attach two same  passport size photograph to the admission form.

        3)   Attach the certificates as mentioned below -
               a)  Original Certificate:         i) XII Marksheet,
                                                               ii) Leaving Certificate

              b)   Xerox copies:                   i) X Mark sheet
                                                               ii) X Passing Certificate
                                                              iii) School Leaving Certificate

 

        Along with the above certificates
             I) Students other than Maharashtra Board (i.e. ICSE / ISC / CBSE students) to attach –        
                    i) Original migration certificate
                   ii) Transfer Certificate

           II) Reserve Category Students to attach Xerox copy of caste certificate.

          III) Christian Minority Student to attach Xerox copy of Baptism Certificate.


         Enrollment & Eligibility

         A)
Students who passed XII from Maharashtra Board will have to fill up enrollment form in the month of August.

         B) Students who passed XII from other than Maharashtra Board (i.e. ICSE / ISC / CBSE, other State Boards etc) will have to fill in               provisional eligibility form in the office before payment of fees. 

 


B.Sc in Computer Science was introduced by Wilson College in academic year 1999-2000 to train students for the ever expanding Information Technology field. The course lays emphasis on the science behind development of computer applications.

The Department maintains spacious and state-of-the-art laboratories, and has introduced new teaching methodologies to prepare our students stand up to any challenge wherever they go. All students have to give presentations and do project work.

Eligibility:
Std XII (Science) with Mathematics
Admission is merit-based

Nature of Course:
It is a three-year Integrated B.Sc Degree Course. The subject combinations (also shown elsewhere in the prospectus) are:

For The First Year:
Physics | Mathematics | Computer Science
Mathematics | Statistics | Computer Science
Plus one paper in Foundation Course

For the Second Year:
Mathematics | Computer Science
Plus one paper in Foundation Course.

For the Third Year Students, there are 4 papers in Computer Science and 2 papers in Applied Component - Web Design & Technologies and .NET Technologies. In the Third Year students have to do two projects: SSAD Project and Web Project, which are assessed by external examiners.

Examination Scheme:
The First Year and Second Year Students are assessed at the end of each term. They pass on the basis of their performance in the First Term and Second Term. The students have to do projects and do presentations to sharpen their skills and hone their personalities.
