                                                     Bachelor in Mass Media


Students seeking admission for Bachelor in Mass Media must:

        1) Fill the admission form completely. Incomplete form or form without phone no. address etc. will not be accepted.

        2) Affix one passport size photograph (photo taken on or after 1st April 2011), with name and date of photograph printed on it as             shown below) and attach two same  passport size photograph to the admission form.

        3)   Attach the certificates as mentioned below -
               a)  Original Certificate:         i) XII Marksheet,
                                                               ii) Leaving Certificate

              b)   Xerox copies:                   i) X Mark sheet
                                                               ii) X Passing Certificate
                                                              iii) School Leaving Certificate

 

        Along with the above certificates
             I) Students other than Maharashtra Board (i.e. ICSE / ISC / CBSE students) to attach –        
                    i) Original migration certificate
                   ii) Transfer Certificate

           II) Reserve Category Students to attach Xerox copy of caste certificate.

          III) Christian Minority Student to attach Xerox copy of Baptism Certificate.



         Enrollment & Eligibility

         A)
Students who passed XII from Maharashtra Board will have to fill up enrollment form in the month of August.

         B) Students who passed XII from other than Maharashtra Board (i.e. ICSE / ISC / CBSE, other State Boards etc) will have to fill in               provisional eligibility form in the office before payment of fees.

Courses of Study

    

The University of Mumbai introduced the Bachelor of Mass Media (BMM) Course during the academic year 2000-2001. It is a three years degree programme with six semesters, with each semester of approximately five months duration. A student has the choice to specialize in either Journalism or Advertising in the third year.

Wilson BMM endeavors to produce graduates with advanced knowledge in communication, preparing them to be the leaders in mass communication with morality, creativity, insightful attitudes and essential skills in English.

Eligibility:
Students who have passed the H.S.C. examination in Arts, Science or Commerce, with not less than 50%
marks, are eligible to apply for this course.

Scheme:
The examination is conducted at the end of each semester. A theory paper carries 100 marks. The evaluation of the performance of the students in theory papers is on the basis of both internal assessment (50%) and semester end examination (50%).

Passing Standards:
A minimum of 50% marks are required in every paper in order to pass. Not more than two A.T.K.Ts are allowed per semester.
