Bachelor of Arts


Students seeking admission for Bachelor of Arts must:

        1) Fill the admission form completely. Incomplete form or form without phone no. address etc. will not be accepted.

        2) Affix one passport size photograph (photo taken on or after 1st April 2011), with name and date of photograph printed on it as             shown below) and attach two same  passport size photograph to the admission form.

        3)   Attach the certificates as mentioned below -
               a)  Original Certificate:         i) XII Marksheet,
                                                               ii) Leaving Certificate

              b)   Xerox copies:                   i) X Mark sheet
                                                               ii) X Passing Certificate
                                                              iii) School Leaving Certificate

 

        Along with the above certificates
             I) Students other than Maharashtra Board (i.e. ICSE / ISC / CBSE students) to attach –        
                    i) Original migration certificate
                   ii) Transfer Certificate

           II) Reserve Category Students to attach Xerox copy of caste certificate.

          III) Christian Minority Student to attach Xerox copy of Baptism Certificate.



         Enrollment & Eligibility

         A)
Students who passed XII from Maharashtra Board will have to fill up enrollment form in the month of August.

         B) Students who passed XII from other than Maharashtra Board (i.e. ICSE / ISC / CBSE, other State Boards etc) will have to fill in               provisional eligibility form in the office before payment of fees.

Courses of Study

     (If sufficient number of students are not available for any particular subject combination - then that Subject Combination will
     be suspended for that academic year and students may opt for any other available combination.)

     Bacherlor of Arts (B.A.)

     A three year integrated course leading to the degree of Bachelor of Arts (B.A) was introduced with effect from June 1977, by the      University. The revised pattern came into force with effect form June 1993.

     A student taking the B.A. degree examination is required to take 20 units (2000 marks) in all. The distribution of these 20 units
     over  the three years is explained below.

     Core (Special Subjects)

        17 Units (including 2 units of an Applied Nature related to the core units.)

           2 Units: Foundation Course

           1 Unit: General Applied component

    Optional Subject Combination
     You have choice of Four Groups (A, B, C, and D) and each group has 3 sets of Subject Combinations. You may choose any one      group and one subject each from each set of subjects:

                for example:
                If you plan to take Group A, then you have Economics (from Set 1 and which is compulsory),
               any one from Set 2 (say History) and finally from Set 3 (say Marathi [Op] ),
               so your Group A combination will be: Economics (1) - History (3) - Marathi (Op).

                              Please note: Subjects in set 1 are compulsory.

                     which are as follows :
                          1)   Investment Analysis, 
                          2) Business Communication, 
                          3) Mass Communication
                          4)   Travel & Tourism, 
                          5) Gandhism, 
                          6) Psychology of Adjustment, 
                          7) Comparative Religion, and
                          8)   General Introduction to law

                           (One subject will be assigned to each student by the college after the admissions are finalised)


TYBA - 6 Units
