JUNIOR COLLEGE 




Rules Concerning Admission For Junior College

 

Students seeking admission to this College must complete the application form for admission, which can be obtained from the office on payment of Rupees Ten. Students, who have passed I.C.B.S.E., or any other board examination other than the S.S.C Examination of Maharashtra State, will have to submit the following documents for admission:

a) Statement of Marks of the last public examination

b) Passing Certificate of the public examination

c) School Leaving Certificate or Transfer Certificate, countersigned by the Education Inspector. Students are informed that the original School Leaving Certificate once submitted is a permanent record, which remains with the college.

d) Transcript and the syllabus of the last examination passed

e) Photographs 2 copies (3 X 2.5 cm).

f) Eligibility Certificate for certain cases (like handicapped etc.) (vii) H. S. C Board Eligibility form duly filled in and attested and

g) Migration Certificate, all original at the time of admission. He will also have to submit a Deed of undertaking on Rs 20 Non-judicial Stamp paper and abide by the undertaking made by him/her and the parent. Admission will be confirmed only after all the Certificates mentioned above are verified by the  H. S. C Board and eligibility is granted.

 

For students who have passed from Maharashtra Board

For Admission to the FYJC class, the following documents together with an attested copy of each are required:

a) S.S.C Examination Passing Certificate

b) S.S.C Examination - statement of marks.

c) School Leaving Certificate.

d) Eligibility Certificate for certain cases (like handicapped etc).

e) Photographs 2 copies (3 x 2.5cm)

 

Students are informed that the original School Leaving Certificate once submitted is a permanent record, which remains with the College. Students should keep sufficient number of attested copies of the School Leaving Certificate with them for getting Domicile Certificate or for other purposes.

All admissions are valid for one academic year and to be renewed each year by fresh application in the prescribed form for every subsequent year of study.

COURSES OF INSTRUCTION

1)       Students are not permitted to change subjects allotted to them at the time of admission

2)       Students of F.Y.J.C and S.Y.J.C. will have to pass a Physical Education examination

 

EXAMINATIONS:  

Following Examinations will be held during the academic year :

1)       First Mid Terminal Examination or Home Assignment (August) F.Y.J.C

2)       First Terminal Examination (October) F.Y.J.C & S.Y.J.C

3)       Second Mid Terminal Examination (January) F.Y.J.C

4)       Second Terminal Examination (March) for F.Y.J.C only

5)       Preliminary Examination (January - February) S.Y.J.C

 

Assessed answer books of all the examinations except of the second Terminal Examination are returned to the students in the classrooms. Parents and guardians should ask for the marks periodically.

The Final result of the F.Y.J.C class will be decided on the average marks [(a+b+c) / 3] in each subject.

a =marks at First Terminal Exam
b = marks at Second Terminal Exam
c = marks at first and second Mid-Terminal Exams.

 

COPYING AND USING UNFAIR MEANS WILL RESULT
IN EXPULSION FROM COLLEGE

TEACHER-IN-CHARGE SCHEME:

 

To maintain close teacher-student contact through the year, students are divided into groups of 25-30 students, each under the charge of a teacher.

The teachers keep in touch with the progress of the students in their respective groups and meet with them time to time. The teachers concerned also contact parents. Parents with prior appointment can contact these teachers. There will be an open day in the first term and also in the second term.

ON THE OPEN DAY PARENTS MUST COME AND SEE THE PERFORMANCE OF THEIR CHILD AND ALSO CHECK THE ATTENDANCE FROM THE RESPECTIVE TEACHERS.

 


SPECIAL ATTENTION TO STUDENTS:

Special attention is focused not only on the bright students but also on those students who do not progress as well as others. Many teachers voluntarily give free guidance to such students.

 


VOCATIONAL SUBJECTS

From the academic year 1999-2000 Wilson College has been granted permission to start two new Vocational Subjects in the Junior College Science section namely Computer Science and Electronics.

The admissions to these subjects are strictly on merit basis. These subjects carry 200 marks each. A student opting for the vocational subject will have to give up two subjects namely Biology and Second Language in its place.

                      The fees once paid for the vocational course will not be refunded .
